10-Week Intro to Somatics

In this 10-week program, we will explore somatic practices, self-awareness, emotional release, and holistic self-care with the support of yoga. Each week provides a safe and welcoming space for group activities, journaling, and specific yoga practices tailored to the theme of the week.

During Week 1, we will focus on building a solid foundation with breathing practices, somatics overview, journaling, and a yoga practice combining breath with movement.

As we move into Week 2, our emphasis will be on developing awareness through group practices, fostering self-compassion, practicing non-judgmental observation, and experiencing mindful movement in yoga.

Week 3 will encourage you to sit with and move through sensations, understand the language of sensations, and engage in yoga practices to help move through discomfort.

In Week 4, we will focus on sitting with and moving through emotions, creating a safe space for emotional release, and utilizing yoga practices to release and restore.

Week 5 introduces the practice of somatic reframing through group activities, journaling, and yoga practices that focus on pairing movement with mantra.

Week 6 will be dedicated to understanding the nervous system, recognizing the differences between hyperarousal and hypoarousal, and engaging in yoga practices to balance the nervous system.

Week 7 will emphasize the importance of sensory self-care, creating a nurturing space for self-care, and utilizing various sensory tools alongside safe and supported restorative yoga practices.

In Week 8, we will focus on somatic boundaries, recognizing your innate worth and value, and engaging in yoga practices for inner and outer strength.

Week 9 is all about building your personalized practice, incorporating habits, routines, and gratitude, and allowing you to share your new favorite somatic practices with the group.

Finally, in Week 10, we will wrap up with a full restorative yoga practice followed by group sharing and reflections, allowing you to integrate and reflect on your journey. It is our hope that this program provides you with a supportive environment for personal growth, self-awareness, and holistic well-being through the integration of somatics, yoga, and reflective practices.

Lynae Martinez

Lynae incorporates trauma-informed yoga with mindfulness. She encourages you to show up exactly as you are. Her goal with every client is to guide, empower and most importantly, provide them with the tools to implement the teachings into their daily lives, creating a routine of balance, purpose and self love.
